Eleanor Reid Nutrition

Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner in London and online

How can I help?

I'm a masters degree-qualified Nutritional Therapist working in North London and online.

I work with people experiencing challenging and chronic physiological symptoms that are affecting their quality of life and may remain unresolved by conventional medical care.

I believe your body is naturally designed to function in balance and to self-regulate, and that symptoms are often its intelligent way of communicating that something feels threatening to that natural equilibrium.

No symptom is too small to explore in Nutritional Therapy. Even subtle signals from your body can reveal important information about underlying imbalances seeking your attention.

By listening to your health story and conducting relevant tests where needed, we can identify the systemic imbalances and triggers that have prompted these protective responses.

My role is to work alongside you, supporting you every step of the way, adapting to your needs and working with your preferences to help you to resolve your symptoms.

Hi, I'm Eleanor

MA, MSc, dipPNPD, mBANT, rCNHC

My mother was the local doctor and I grew up surrounded with ideas of health and healing. We were fed home-cooked food using ingredients from the garden, embedding in me early beliefs in the value of real foods. After qualifying at Oxford, I worked in the corporate world before taking a break to have my children. Looking back I can see that my journey to becoming a Nutritional Therapist began when I realised the importance their every bite and I discovered that I held a passionate belief in the power of food to influence our health.

Today it is my passion to help people understand how a personalisation of our eating habits, nutrient intake and lifestyle can transform our health status, help us to remain disease and symptom-free by enjoying a mutually beneficial relationship with food.

I have a masters degree in Personalised Nutrition and a diploma in Nutritional Therapy having received exceptional training in evidence-based functional medicine from from the globally respected Centre for Nutrition and Lifestyle Management (CNELM), graduating with distinction in my diploma. I have published a case study on nutritional management of the menopause and this is an area of health close to my own heart.

I offer one-to-one consultations and packages of nutrition and lifestyle support to help you achieve your optimal health. However the body is complex and you are completely individual. On your journey back to health we will work together to create a pathway that is both unique and achievable for you.

It will be my pleasure to work with you.

I work in a clinic in North London and online. I'm registered with The British Association for Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare council (CNHC), regulated by the Professional Standards Authority.

How we will work together

Consultation

We start with a comprehensive consultation to understand your individual health history, symptoms and goals.

Personalisation

I create a personalised diet, lifestyle and, if relevant, supplement plan tailored to your goals and preferences.

Follow-up

In follow-up consultations I provide support and guidance and further personalisation of your plan.

Functional testing

I can recommend and interpret functional testing to help uncover systemic imbalances.

Feedback

I listen and adapt to make sure you're on the right path to improved health.

Support

I will guide you throughout your journey to better health to help you achieve sustained results.

Functional testing options

Functional testing can give useful insight into what’s going on beneath your symptoms. I’ll help you decide which tests, if any, are worth doing, and interpret the results so they translate into practical next steps.

Testing can be included as part of your Root Cause Consultation, or I can select and interpret tests for you as a standalone service.

I choose tests based on your health history, symptoms and goals. If anything you describe needs medical investigation, I’ll advise you to speak with your GP.

Gut health

Your gut plays a central role in how you feel day to day. Bloating, irregular bowels, discomfort after eating or ongoing digestive symptoms can affect your energy, mood and wellbeing.

Gut testing can offer insight into three areas:

  • Digestive function: how well you’re breaking down and absorbing food, and markers of gut inflammation.

  • Fungi and parasites: whether yeasts, fungi or parasites are present in your gut.

  • Microbiome health: the balance and diversity of the bacteria that live in your digestive system, and how they may relate to your overall health.

Hormone health

Hormones influence your energy, sleep, mood, weight, skin and menstrual cycle. Hormone testing can help build a clearer picture of what’s going on if you’re experiencing irregular or painful periods, perimenopause or menopause symptoms, fatigue, poor sleep or low mood. It can also be useful if you’re planning to conceive or living with a PCOS/PMOS diagnosis.

Testing can include sex hormones such as oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone, as well as cortisol, your main stress hormone. Looking at how your cortisol changes through the day can give insight into how your body is responding to stress and how that may relate to your energy and sleep.

Nutrient status

Low levels of key nutrients can contribute to tiredness, low mood, hair changes, frequent illness and difficulty concentrating.

Nutrient testing can help show where your levels sit, so that dietary changes and any supplements are targeted to you rather than based on guesswork.

Thyroid health

Your thyroid helps regulate your energy, metabolism, temperature, mood and digestion. Symptoms such as persistent fatigue, unexplained weight changes, feeling unusually cold, hair thinning, low mood or brain fog can have many causes, and thyroid function is one worth looking at.

Routine thyroid testing often checks a limited number of markers. A fuller thyroid panel can include TSH, free T4 and free T3, as well as thyroid antibodies, to give a more detailed picture of how your thyroid is functioning. I can also look at nutrients that support thyroid function.
