What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is a collaborative and personalised, evidence-based approach to improving and sustaining your health and wellbeing with nutrition and lifestyle support.
Your body is incredible and is designed to self-regulate and protect you. Sometimes, when your body perceives a persistent threat to its natural equilibrium, it produces defensive responses that can result in chronic symptoms—symptoms that often remain difficult to resolve through conventional medical care alone. Nutritional Therapy looks at the root cause of these protective responses and examines the entire body to identify where imbalances may lie.
Resolving chronic imbalances can take time and patience. As we address the underlying triggers and support your body to allow it to self-regulate, symptoms often resolve in layers—sometimes quickly, sometimes over weeks or months. I'll support you through this process, adjusting your plan where appropriate.
I'm very happy to talk to you about the service I offer and how it can work for you.
Let food by thy medicine and medicine by thy food
Hippocrates
There is now overwhelming evidence that the food we eat can both heal and harm us and that many modern food choices are at the root of today’s chronic disease epidemic and everyday health concerns. We are all living longer than ever, but our later years are being lived in sub-optimal health.
Nutrition has the power to prevent disease and restore health and, although no-one would disagree that ‘eating well’ is good for all of us, there is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to food. What nutrient powers one may weaken another and responses to foods are individual especially if there is an imbalance present in the body or external lifestyle factors at play such as stress.
The power of Nutritional Therapy lies in tailoring nutrient intake to individual biochemistry and combining it with lifestyle factors that compound their impact.
